The NSW Swifts have finalised their 10-player squad for the 2027 Super Netball season, blending five returning Swifts with five new recruits with experienced and emerging talent coming together under new Head Coach Dylan Nexhip.
Leading the returning contingent are Swifts stalwarts Paige Hadley, Helen Housby, Tayla Fraser and Sarah Klau, alongside 2026 Club MVP Grace Whyte.
Hadley, who is set to become the most-capped player in Swifts history next season, remains determined to continue her legacy in red.
“I genuinely feel there is still so much to achieve in the red dress,” Hadley said.
Housby will enter her 11th season with the Club, extending one of the longest and most decorated international careers in Swifts history.
The England international has been a key figure since joining in 2017, including playing pivotal roles in the 2019 and 2021 Premierships.
Fraser will continue her second stint in Sydney after stepping into a leadership role in 2026, while Klau provides an experienced presence in defence as a two-time Premiership winner, Swifts centurion and Australian Diamond.
For Klau, the opportunity to continue in red remains a special one.
“Pulling on the Swifts dress is so special to me and I can’t wait to get back out there in 2027,” Klau said.
Whyte, meanwhile, enters the new season after a breakout 2026 campaign that saw her claim the Club’s highest individual honour and earn an invitation to the Australian Diamonds training environment.
While the returning group provides continuity, the Swifts have added significant firepower across the court.
Australian Diamond and three-time Premiership defender Matilda Garrett joins following six seasons with the Adelaide Thunderbirds, bringing international and Premiership experience to a defensive unit that will also welcome the return of NSW junior Rudi Ellis.
Ellis began her elite journey with the Swifts as a training partner in 2017 before going on to become a key part of the Melbourne Vixens’ 2025 Premiership-winning side.
“It feels pretty surreal to be coming back to Sydney and signing with the Swifts,” Ellis said.
“The Swifts were a part of the beginning of my journey... so to be coming full circle is really humbling.”
The attack end has also received an international injection, with Ugandan goal shooter Mary Cholhok joining after two seasons with the Queensland Firebirds.
The 29-year-old brings 28 Super Netball appearances and 996 goals to Sydney, alongside extensive experience in the UK Netball Super League.
“I feel ready for this next chapter of my career and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead with the Swifts,” Cholhok said.
Versatile midcourter Jordan Cransberg adds further depth and experience after four seasons with the West Coast Fever.
The 26-year-old has 44 national league appearances and can impact the game across all three midcourt positions.
“I’m ready for a new challenge and can’t wait to get to Sydney and get started with the team,” Cransberg said.
Rounding out the squad is emerging talent Lucy Voyvodic, who earns her first full-time Super Netball contract after progressing through the South Australian pathway and representing Australia at junior level.
“I’m excited to join a new environment, learn from the people around me and continue to grow as a player,” Voyvodic said.
With Premiership winners, Australian Diamonds, international representatives, established leaders and rising stars all represented, the Swifts’ 2027 squad has been built with both experience and the future in mind.
