Awards

Each year the NSW Swifts season culminates in the NSW Swifts Gala Dinner, held at the conclusion of the Suncorp Super Netball season, where the team members and fans celebrate the season that was. Since the inaugural NSW Swifts season in 2008, three player awards have been presented at each gala dinner; QBE Most Valued Player, Members’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player. In 2013, two additional awards were introduced, NSW Swifts Coaches’ Award and Club Person of the Year.

The award winners and voting systems are listed below:

Named after Principal Partner, the QBE Most Valued Player is the club’s highest accolade and is awarded to the player who has received the most MVP votes from a specialist Suncorp Super Netball panel during the regular season. Prior to Suncorp Super Netball the Award was voted on by the coaches of each ANZ Championship team during the regular season; players are nominated in the three specific areas; mid-court, shooters and defenders with the results forwarded to the ANZ Championship office.
