Rising star Lucy Voyvodic will join the NSW Swifts for the 2027 season, securing her first full-time roster spot in Super Netball.
Voyvodic was the U19s Most Valuable Player at the National Netball Championships in 2023, before representing Australia at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games and 2025 U21 World Youth Cup in Gibraltar.
Last month the 21-year-old was a member of the Australian Pathways team that took part in Ocean of Power Tour in Samoa.
The Adelaide-born youngster was the Thunderbirds 11th player in 2026 and shared the Super Netball Reserves MVP award with Swift Freddie Schneideman in 2025.
Voyvodic said joining the Swifts was an exciting next step in her career and an opportunity to continue developing in a new environment.
“It’s really exciting to be joining the Swifts and making the move to Sydney,” she said.
“I’ve loved my time in Adelaide and I’m really grateful for the opportunities I’ve had through the Thunderbirds and the South Australian pathway.
“I feel ready for the next challenge and I’m excited to join a new environment, learn from the people around me and continue to grow as a player.
“The Swifts are such a proud Club with an incredible history, and I’m really looking forward to becoming part of that and wearing the Red in 2027.
“I know there’s a lot of hard work ahead, but that’s something I’m really excited about. I can’t wait to get to Sydney and get started.”
Head Coach Dylan Nexhip said Voyvodic’s progression through the Australian pathway had made her a player the Swifts had been watching closely for some time, with her performances at state, national and international level earning her an opportunity to shine on the Super Netball stage.
“Lucy is a really promising young midcourter who has continued to tick every box through the pathway and earn the opportunities that have come her way,” Nexhip said.
“Her performances in the Super Netball Reserves showed she is one of the standout players coming through the pathway. She has earned her opportunity to play Super Netball and we’re really excited to see her take that next step.
“Lucy has had a great range of experiences already, and I think all of those experiences have prepared her for this opportunity. We’re looking forward to bringing her into our environment, supporting her development and seeing her shine in the Red dress.
“She’s certainly one to keep an eye on in 2027.”
