Seasoned Suncorp Super Netball athlete Lili Gorman-Brown will continue her sporting journey with the NSW Swifts after signing-on as a Training Partner for 2025.
The 25-year-old attacking midcourter made her Swifts debut in 2022 and has since made 18 appearances for the seven-time Premiers, including the 2023 Super Netball Grand Final.
A Sutherland Shire native, Gorman-Brown came through the Netball NSW pathway via underage State Teams, the QBE Swifts Academy and the Netball NSW Premier League with the Sutherland Stingrays.
Head Coach Briony Akle said keeping Gorman-Brown in the senior Swifts environment was a huge boost for the Club.
“Lili is one of the most determined athletes I’ve ever had the pleasure of coaching and her wealth of experience will be vital as we look to rebound next year,” she said.
“Like Elle Temu and Grace Whyte, Lili knows what it’s like at Super Netball level and having that support in our wider group is invaluable.
“As I have said many times before, Training Partners are not with us to make up numbers. They are crucial to everything we do and many of them go on to play huge roles in our season proper when injuries hit.
“Lili is a hugely respected and much-loved part of the team who we know can step-up and do a brilliant job when required.”
Gorman-Brown added:
“I love being a Swift and while I was naturally disappointed to miss out on a fulltime roster spot for 2025, I am still very excited to continue my journey with the Club.
“My teammates, coaches, support staff and everyone at the Swifts mean a huge amount to me so getting the opportunity to remain in the setup was one I couldn’t refuse.
“I know from experience that you can be called up at any moment and you need to be fully invested in the team because you have to hit the ground running.
“The Swifts have proven over the past six seasons that having a deep wider squad is one of the main keys to success, and anything I can do to assist us getting back to mountain top is a privilege.
“I am looking forward to getting back into the Swifts camp in the coming weeks and gearing up for another huge season of SSN.”
Gorman-Brown is the final Training Partner announcement for the Swifts ahead of the 2025 Super Netball season. She joins Temu, Whyte, Jess Conlan and Freddie Schneideman in the wider Swifts setup.
