Rising attacking midcourt star Jess Conlan has been selected as a Swifts Training Partner for the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball season.
The 21-year-old from Griffith NSW, who has come through the Netball NSW Pathway and the QBE Swifts Academy, enjoyed a standout Super Netball Reserves campaign in 2024 to earn another year in the senior team environment.
A member of the Australian 21U Squad in 2023, Conlan earned her first Training Partner contract last year and has been a stalwart of the senior training setup since.
Training Partners can be called into the main playing squad as both temporary and permanent injury replacements in the duration of a season.

“I feel really privileged to have the opportunity to continue my netball journey and development at the Swifts, especially having had a taste of it last year,” Conlan said.
“At Super Netball level it can be sink or swim but I am proud that I’ve been able to impress the coaches and earn this spot.
“The SN Reserves competition provided an insight into how Super Netball works and what is required of athletes week in and week out, and I loved the experience.
“Of course, my ultimate dream is to become a capped Swift and to emulate the feats of the amazing players I train with, but there is no better way to put yourself in prime position than working side-by-side with them daily.
“I’d like to thank Briony Akle (Swifts Head Coach) and her team for having this belief in me, as well as everyone in the QBE Swifts Academy squad who I contested the Reserves competition with.”
Akle said Conlan has massive potential, with the ability to play at the highest level.
“We have a huge amount of midcourt talent in the Australian game and Jess is among the best of it.
“She’s a regional netballer who has had to sacrifice a huge amount to be able to earn her shot and to see her flourish in our environment speaks volumes about her commitment and the pathways underpinning the Swifts program.
“We’ve seen in seasons past how big a role Training Partners can end up playing in Super Netball so these positions are not given out lightly.
“The onus is on us to select the athletes we truly believe can become not just capped Swifts, but champions of our Club, and everyone who’s played a role in Jess’s development to this point should be very proud of her selection.”
The Swifts will name further Training Partners for the 2025 season in due course.
