Ken Rosewall Arena will be packed to the rafters once again on Saturday night with the Finals-bound NSW Swifts securing back-to-back 10,000-strong sellouts.
The Swifts will host the Sunshine Coast Lightning in a huge Suncorp Super Netball Round 13 clash (5pm Saturday), NSW’s final home game of the regular season, and sports fans have been quick to flock to the No.1 female sports competition in the country with the game now officially sold out.
The capacity crowd comes after the Swifts secured another sellout for their most recent home game; a big Derby win over local rivals the Giants.
Building on another record year of Membership and Ticket sales, the Swifts have averaged crowds of over 8,000 this season – the biggest in their nearly 30-year history.
The Swifts currently sit second on the Super Netball ladder and are seeking a win to take the battle for the Minor Premiership with the West Coast Fever to the last round of the regular season.
Should the Swifts secure top spot after 14 rounds they will host the Major Semi Final in Sydney in two weeks’ time.
Jeremy Butler, Executive General Manager of the Swifts, said the sellout was another fantastic result, not just for the Swifts but netball as a whole.
“Sports fans know a quality product when they see it and Suncorp Super Netball is just that because the speed, physicality and entertainment value is through the roof,” he said.
“Our Swifts team play a wonderful brand of netball and every game is against world-class opposition who bring huge intensity.
“At the same time, our netball games are not just sporting contests they are entertainment spectacles. Our fan experience in the venue and around the precinct has grown over the years to being one of the leaders in the Australian sporting market.
“Saturday is our First Nations Round and I encourage all of our patrons to come early to make the most of what will be a very special event as we celebrate the fantastic contribution of Indigenous Australians to our game.”
