While the 2024 Suncorp Super Netball season may not have panned out the way she would've wanted, NSW Swifts defender and double champion Maddy Turner is always savvy with how she uses her spare time.
The Swifts Centurion, who has been a stalwart of the Club since 2016, had a rare year in which she didn't play Finals Netball and she used the extended offseason to discover more about the nation she has proudly represented in an Australian Diamonds uniform.
"I got to get in a little bit of a trip with my sister when we spent three and a half weeks on the road," Turner says.
"We flew to Darwin, met there, picked up a van and drove all the way down to see the sights of Australia.
"It's a trip I would recommend to anyone, it's the coolest trip I've done... the North West is beautiful, the red dirt to the water... it's just stunning.
"I was very lucky to have a drone as well and to see it all from above - it was a very special trip."
