Australia’s biggest independent tyre retailer Tyrepower will be a driving force behind the NSW Swifts for another three seasons after upping its investment to become a Premier Partner of Club until the end of 2026.
As well as this, Tyrepower continues to be the Official Coaches Partner of the Swifts over the same period while double Premiership Champion and World Cup-winning defender Sarah Klau will become a Brand Ambassador for Tyrepower NSW
The company was formed in 1977 by 10 independent tyre retailers with the aim of offering consumers the flexibility, savings and value of an independent dealer network. It has since grown to be the largest independent retailer of its kind in Australia and New Zealand.
Tyrepower dipped their toes into the Super Netball world with the Swifts in 2021 and the relationship has gone from strength to strength since with the company logo to appear on the Club’s uniform for the first time in 2024.
“The growth of our partnership with Tyrepower one of the most pleasing aspects about this new agreement,” Kath Tetley, Executive General Manager of the Swifts, said.
“Since our initial relationship in 2021 the team at Tyrepower have continued to increase investment and now they have committed as Premier Partners on a long-term deal.
“It is pretty special when these relationships blossom to Premier Partner status in the space of a few years, but that is a testament to everyone involved.
“Firstly, this shows how dedicated Tyrepower are to the Swifts, and netball as a whole, and we are exceptionally thankful for this increased level of support.
“Secondly, it demonstrates what a wonderful team of people the Swifts are to support across our players, coaches, staff, members, fans and the wider NSW netball community.
“Sarah Klau is one of those champions who constantly pushes herself to achieve at the highest level and I know she will be a wonderful ambassador.”
Henk van Diggele, General Manager – Tyrepower, added:
“A few years ago, we were very happy to increase our investment and it is a pleasure to do so again for the seasons ahead.
“We are very excited to have the Tyrepower logo on such an iconic uniform in Australian sport, and to welcome Sarah as an ambassador in 2024.
“The Swifts have been pioneers for women in sport for many decades and the skill and athleticism of netball at the elite level is second to none in professional sport.
“Since our partnership began, we’ve been proud to be a part of two Grand Final campaigns and a Premiership success, and anything we can do to help this amazing team inspire people all over NSW – especially young girls – to take up netball is a very worthy investment.
“We are also delighted to continue as the Official Coaches Partner of the Swifts. Briony Akle is one of the most respected mentors in sport with a brilliant track record.
“Her combination with Natalie Avellino (assistant coach) was one of the highlights of 2023 and our support of them extends to the whole team behind the team.
“We cannot wait to be back at Ken Rosewall Arena in April and be a part of the world’s greatest female sports league again.”
