The NSW Swifts would like to thank Teigan O’Shannassy for her contribution to the Club over the past five seasons.
The defender is leaving the Swifts at the end of her current contract.
A proud NSW junior who came through national and state underage programs, O’Shannassy was originally part of the Swifts pathway in 2016, representing the Netball NSW Waratahs (now QBE Swifts Academy) in the Australian Netball League (ANL) before making her Super Netball debut with the Giants.
O'Shannassy returned to the Club in 2021 as a Training Partner before being offered a full-time contract and making her Club debut in 2022.
After making her mark during a breakout 2023 season, O'Shannassy went on to represent Australia at the Fast5 World Series, winning Gold.
Her rise continued at the Swifts in the following years, where she became an important part of the Club’s defensive unit.
Swifts Executive General Manager Jeremy Butler thanked O’Shannassy for her efforts in the Red dress.
“Teigan has been part of the Swifts Family from a very young age and we are incredibly proud of the player and person she has become during her time with us,” Butler said.
“She came through the NSW Pathways and fulfilled that childhood dream of pulling on the Red dress, and she has represented the Club with enormous pride.
“Teigan’s rise has been a fantastic story and we look forward to seeing the continued growth in her game.
“We are extremely grateful for everything Teigan has given to the Swifts and wish her every success in her next move.”
