The NSW Swifts would like to thank Grace Nweke for her outstanding contribution to the Club over the past two seasons.
Nweke will leave the Swifts at the end of her current contract.
The New Zealand International quickly established herself as one of the League’s most dominant attacking players in her debut season, scoring 718 goals and earning the Club’s QBE Most Valued Player Award.
She continued to impress in 2026, finishing the season with 677 goals before playing a key role in helping her country secure Gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Swifts Executive General Manager Jeremy Butler said Nweke’s impact extended well beyond her performances on court, with her decision to move to Sydney helping pave the way for other Silver Ferns stars to explore opportunities in Australia.
“Grace arrived in Sydney having made a huge decision to leave everything she knew and challenge herself in a new competition and environment," Butler said
"She backed herself and made an immediate impact in the toughest competition in the world.
“Her success in Australia has been a credit to her talent, her drive to succeed and a willingness to embrace a new challenge.
“Grace will always be a part of the Swifts family.
"We thank her for everything she has contributed to the Club and wish her every success for the next chapter of her career.”
