The NSW Swifts are delighted to announce that Share The Dignity have come on board with the club as an Official Charity Partner.
Share The Dignity, whose work directly benefits those in crisis suffering period poverty, is an Australian women's charity that works to make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough.
Founded by Managing Director Rochelle Courtenay in 2015, the charity distributes period products to women, girls, and anyone who menstruates and is in need of their support.
The charity’s partnership with the seven-time Premiers is their first with an elite sports team.
Swifts Executive General Manager Tracey Scott was delighted to welcome Share The Dignity to the team.
“The work that Share The Dignity do is vital and I know it’s a cause that is very close to our players’ hearts,” she said.
“There are many women in society who are have fallen on hard times due to a wide range of circumstances and the very least they deserve is some dignity.
“Since 2015 Rochelle and her team have distributed over three million period products across Australia, and that is an indicator of how badly their work is needed in today’s society.”
Netball NSW Executive General Manager of Commercial & Marketing Yael Reed added: “Rochelle’s story is an inspiring one of ups and downs, and the way she has been able to turn her life around and start such a collective force for good is quite remarkable.
“We are really looking forward to working together throughout 2022.”
Courtenay said her team were pumped to sign-on with the Swifts:
“Our work directly benefits those in crisis experiencing period poverty. We believe that everyone deserves to be afforded the dignity so many of us take for granted.
We are super excited to be able to partner with the NSW Swifts in raising the awareness and bringing hope and dignity to so many women and girls doing it tough.”
