The NSW Swifts are proud to announce that rising midcourters Eliza Burton and Brianna Martyn have joined the Club as Training Partners for the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season.
With injuries ruling Jess Conlan and Freddie Schneideman out of action for the upcoming campaign, Burton and Martyn will now be added to the senior setup alongside fellow Training Partners Nicola Barge and Courtney Castle.
Canberra native Burton, who has been a standout in the Netball NSW Premier League for many seasons, joins the Swifts after previously serving as a Training Partner at cross-town rivals the Giants.
A centre and wing attack specialist, she has been a stalwart of North Shore United and was shortlisted for the Premier League’s Team of the Decade, just missing out on the Centre bib to former Swift Lili Gorman-Brown.
Martyn is a native of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and has come through the Netball Queensland State Team pathway where she shone at Nationals in the midcourt.
Formerly part of the Sunshine Coast Lightning setup, she played in their Super Netball Reserves side last year and is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in the game.
A proud Kullilli woman, in 2024 Martyn was also named in the inaugural First Nations Black Swans national side.
Swifts head coach Briony Akle welcomed both players to the team.
“Training Partners are vital in our setup, and we are delighted to have secured the services of both Eliza and Brianna,” she said.
“You are only ever as a good as the depth in your wider squad, and I know that both players can step up and do a job if required. They can also keep our main roster on their toes in training.
“Not only is it good news for us it is also a brilliant opportunity for them to prove themselves at this level and push for selection.
“We have seen many Training Partners come through our Club and go on to shine at Super Netball level and there’s reason our current group can’t do the same.
“Celebrating our 30th season is a milestone moment for the Swifts as a whole and I am really delighted to have Eliza and Brianna in our group.”
