The NSW Swifts will be looking to secure top spot on the Suncorp Super Netball ladder when they face the Melbourne Vixens in Brisbane's Nissan Arena on Saturday.
The Premiers currently sit second on the table with only goal percentage separating them from their Victorian rivals who also have six wins from seven rounds of the season so far.
With the halfway point of the regular season passed, the competition is heating up and a first versus second clash is the perfect way to get Round 8 underway, head coach Briony Akle says.
"The Vixens have been the benchmark side so far this year and really put some teams to the sword.
"They have a better goal percentage than us, hence they are top, but I think - like our clash with the Lightning - we'll have two teams out there who want to play fast, clean netball and showcase the speed and skill of the game.
"There are Diamonds and other internationals in all areas of the court and I always love playing the Vixens because of the classic contests we usually get.
"We got the better of them last year but they had it for a few years previous to that so the rivalry remains as intense as ever."
Tomorrow's game is classified has a home game for the Vixens and will be broadcast live on Channel Nine (1pm AET) and the Telstra Netball Live App.
Super Netball also revealed the fixture for Rounds 10-12 of regular season this morning.
As previously announced, the Swifts will play the Collingwood Magpies on Tuesday night in Round 9 and will then follow up on Saturday 5 September with a Round 10 clash against the Queensland Firebirds. Both games take place at Brisbane's Nissan Arena.
The Swifts then return to University of Sunshine Coast to host another meeting with the Melbourne Vixens on Tuesday 8 September before being welcomed back to Brisbane by West Coast Fever in Round 12 on Saturday 12 September.
