The NSW Swifts can confirm that the club's Round 9 Suncorp Super Netball clash with the West Coast Fever will now be held on Sunday 4 July at Melbourne's John Cain Arena (1pm AET).
The league has advised that the top-four clash will be played behind closed doors as a result of the teams entering Victoria from Queensland and Western Australia.
The game was originally scheduled to take place at Ken Rosewall Arena this Saturday before being moved to Brisbane's Nissan Arena due to Greater Sydney's COVID-19-enforced lockdown.
Subsequent coronavirus lockdowns in Queensland and Western Australia then led to the relocation of five Super Netball teams, including the Swifts, to Victoria on Wednesday with the majority of Round 9's fixtures set to take place in Melbourne.
The NSW Swifts are committed to working with Super Netball and fellow clubs to find the best way forward for the competition from Round 10 onwards amid growing disruption caused by COVID-19 outbreaks.
It is the hope of the club that should the situation in Sydney improve in the timeline laid out by the NSW Government, the Swifts will return to play future 2021 home fixtures at Ken Rosewall Arena.
Membership Update
We understand that Ticketed Members will have questions about how this affects their 2021 Membership. We are able to provide the following details based on the relocation of the Swifts v Fever fixture. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work through this evolving situation.
Full Season: These members will be provided with a further update once we understand the extent of which our season may be affected in light of the current Covid-19 outbreaks.
5 Game & 3 Game: Members who have redeemed tickets to this game will have their barcode entitlement returned which will allow you to redeem your ticket(s) to an alternate game.
2 Game (Firebirds & Fever): Members who hold a 2 Game Membership which included the Fever game will be able to redeem their member ticket(s) to our final home game against Thunderbirds on Saturday 7 August within the same seating category. Details of how to redeem tickets for this game will be provided to Members closer to the date.
