Super Netball is roaring back into Sydney in 2027, with the NSW Swifts and Queensland Firebirds set to ignite the season in a blockbuster Round 1 showdown at Ken Rosewall Arena.
The fixture marks a rematch of the Club's first-ever game, when the Swifts defeated the Firebirds 62–49 on the same April weekend 30 years ago.
It’s an exciting start to a season that will see the Swifts play three Saturday night games at 7pm, one Saturday afternoon game at 3pm and three Sunday games at 1pm; a massive win for families looking to attend games in 2027.
Members and fans can also look forward to every home game being played at Ken Rosewall Arena, with the final regular-season home game seeing Dylan Nexhip’s team take on the Sunshine Coast Lightning on Saturday 10 July.
Former Swifts Grace Nweke and Teigan O’Shannassy will return to Ken Rosewall Arena to face their former side in Round 6 when the Swifts host the first-ever NSW derby against the Sydney Sirens at 1pm on Sunday 16 May.
The Swifts will also face reigning premiers Adelaide Thunderbirds in Round 8 at 3pm on Saturday 29 May, when new recruit Matilda Garrett takes on her former team.
The 2027 season also marks the beginning of an exciting new broadcast agreement with Nine Entertainment, making Super Netball more accessible to fans. A minimum of two matches per week will be broadcast on the 9Network’s linear channels, while every match will be available on Stan Sport, with matches also streamed free on 9Now.
