Rising defender Freddie Schneideman will continue her NSW Swifts journey in 2027, re-signing as a Training Partner as she works towards her return following an ACL injury.
A product of the Netball NSW Pathway and QBE Swifts Academy, Schneideman earned her first Training Partner contract in 2024 before making her Super Netball debut as Swift #113 in 2025 and featuring in the Club’s Finals campaign.
Schneideman also represented Australia at the Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar, helping the side claim Gold and becoming a Youth World Champion in the process.
The 21-year-old said she’s building every day and is hungry for another opportunity to play at the highest level with the Swifts.
“It’s definitely been a different year to what I had planned, but I’ve tried to focus on what I can control and take each day as it comes,” Schneideman said.
“Rehab can be challenging, but I’ve got a really good group around me and I’m proud of how I’ve approached it. I’m building every day and getting closer to being back on court.
“I know what it takes to compete at the highest level and having had that opportunity with the Swifts, it makes me even more determined to get back there.
“I’m really excited to keep putting the work in and hopefully put on the red dress again soon.”
Swifts Head Coach Dylan Nexhip said Schneideman had already shown she has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
“Freddie is an incredibly talented defender and demonstrated that she can step onto a Super Netball court and compete against the best in 2025,” Nexhip said.
“She’s got great instincts, she’s tough in the contest and she brings a real competitive edge to everything she does.”
“Freddie has put a huge amount of work into her rehab and having her back in our environment gives her the chance to keep evolving her game and pushing towards another Super Netball opportunity.”
