The NSW Swifts today announce Anita Keelan has moved from Assistant Coach to the development of aspiring players and coaches in the Performance and Pathways space.
She believes the Swifts are set for a successful campaign in 2021. “I wish the players and the club all the best for the upcoming season”.
A highly respected coach and mentor, Keelan joined the Swifts coaching team in 2014 and enjoyed three Grand Finals campaigns, winning a Premiership in 2019.
Before the Swifts, Keelan mentored a host of future Australian Diamonds via coaching roles with Netball NSW State Teams, Australian Underage Teams, the Sydney Sandpipers and both the NSW and Australian Institutes of Sport.
She also played an instrumental role in the formation of the QBE Swifts Academy which now underpins the Swifts senior team and looks to provide further pathway opportunities to Suncorp Super Netball for NSW athletes.
Swifts Executive General Manager Nikki Horton paid tribute to Keelan’s huge contribution to the club.
“Anita has had a massive impact on the lives of many young netballers across the State, and her contribution to the development of players within the Netball NSW pathway- and more recently the QBE Swifts Academy - has been very significant,” she said.
“She was part of our coaching team for over 100 games, was courtside for three Grand Finals and deservedly got her winners medal in 2019. She will always be a Premiership champion of the club.”
