The 2024 Suncorp Super Netball fixture has been unveiled and it’s delivered a brilliant result for NSW Swifts Members and Fans.
The Swifts may start on the road but with a great balance of games, including some blocks of back-to-back fixtures at Sydney’s Ken Rosewall Arena towards the start and finish of the year, it’s never been easier to watch NSW’s most celebrated female professional sports team contest the world’s greatest club netball competition live and in-person.
Swifts Executive General Manager Kath Tetley said: “After our record attendances in 2023 we are really excited for next season and cannot wait to welcome our Members back to Ken Rosewall Arena.
“Sunday games proved to be an immensely popular last year and to have six of our seven games taking place on Sundays, as well as a Saturday night game, this is a draw that delivers for our fans.
“For wider sports fans who love netball there is so much to look forward to such as three back-to-back home ties against the Fever, Vixens and Giants… what a 3-game Membership option that is.
“For Full-Season Members, there is a really good spread across the year meaning they can make the most of the Super Netball season and embrace it from start to finish, and hopefully some Finals games too.”
Most importantly, Head Coach Briony Akle said the draw worked really well for her side which will look to deliver a record eighth Premiership for the Swifts.
“The balance gives us a good mix of home games towards the start of the year and at the end,” she said.
“Having the last three weeks at home, even if the final regular season game is hosted by the Giants, gives us the opportunity to build some real momentum down the stretch.
“We know that there will be plenty of Swifts shirts in the venue that day. Last year the Swifts sold out Ken Rosewall Arena a number of times later in the year and we want to see that happen even earlier in 2024.
“Obviously, playing good netball helps to win the battle for hearts and minds in the Sydney market so the onus is on us from the get go.
“I know we are already on track for huge Membership numbers again in 2024 and we want to reward those passionate fans for their faith in us.
“As ever, nothing short of delivering another Premiership will do for this Club, and the pain of last year’s Grand Final loss is still deeply embedded in us, and that’s the fuel you need.
“Bring on April!”
