The NSW Swifts are excited to announce that the Club will play a New Zealand Selection Squad as part of pre-season preparations ahead of the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball season.
The Swifts face the Dame Noeline Taurua-led Kiwis at Netball Central in Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday 2 February (3pm) for a game which is set to be one of the highlights of the Club’s pre-season campaign.
In fantastic news, 2025 Swifts Members will have an exclusive pre-sale window to purchase tickets for the contest, with remaining tickets going on sale to the General Public at a later date (unless sold out prior).
More information will be emailed to 2025 Members in early January.
Silver Ferns Head Coach Taurua is bringing a squad containing both experienced international and development players to Sydney for a Training Camp and has lined up a game against the Swifts.
NSW Head Coach Briony Akle said going up against some of the best players in international netball would be ideal preparation for the upcoming SSN season.
“Playing different styles of netball against different types of opposition is key to finding a little extra edge, especially in Suncorp Super Netball, where the margins are so fine and there is incredible Australian and international talent across all Clubs.
“While I’m sure both teams will incorporate a lot of rotation throughout the game it will be an excellent chance for both us and them to face world-class opposition in a different setting.
“The Show Court at Netball Central is where we spend so much of our time and I’m delighted we be able to fill the stands with our Members and Fans for a memorable occasion such as this.”
