The country may be in lock-down to battle Covid-19, but that hasn't stopped NSW Swifts defender Lauren Moore from working hard in isolation to keep raising funds for The Kids' Cancer Project.
The defender will shave her head later this month to raise awareness about child cancer research. Covid-19 is in the headlines today, but when the pandemic passes cancer will still be there and the battle remains as fierce as ever.
And after a huge effort from her family, friends, community and netball network we are delighted to announce that Lauren is now only $800 short of an ambitious $10,000 fundraising target.
The NSW junior, who made her debut for the Swifts in 2016 and was part of last year's Premiership win, said she was inspired to undertake the fundraising initiative after hearing about the great work carried out by the charity, whose aim is to one day end kids' cancer.
A revised date for Lauren's head-shave will be announced early next week, with the club set to live-stream it across Facebook and Instagram.
