The NSW Swifts will once again be proudly supporting The Kids' Cancer Project (TKCP) when the team runs out for their Suncorp Super Netball Round 4 clash against the West Coast Fever on Easter Monday.
The game is set to be a blockbuster between two competition heavyweights and the Club is using the occasion at Ken Rosewall Arena to highlight - once again - the amazing work done by TKCP.
TKCP and their amazing patients, staff, volunteers and supporters hold a special place in the NSW netball community. Over the past decade the Swifts and grassroots netball have over $1million for childhood cancer research and now the goal is to raise the next million!
In 2023 TKCP's Crazy Hair & Sock initiative will return. This is an opportunity for netball clubs, associations and schools to get participants to join Team Crazy and dress-up in outlandish, playful hair and socks before taking to the netball court.
The message is very simple: have fun, play some netty and raise funds for a brilliant cause.
"On behalf of the Swifts I strongly encourage all of our netball family across NSW to get involved in Crazy Hair & Sock Day in 2023," NSW Swifts Executive General Manager Kath Tetley said.
"The work that The Kids' Cancer Project do is vital to help to help children and their families who are doing it tough. Unfortunately, childhood cancer is a problem that affects too many families but to see how much those in our game have gotten behind TKCP over the past decade is really heartening.
"Joining Team Crazy in 2023 is a fun way to join a really important fight and the Swifts are delighted to once again be involved."
The official 2023 Crazy Hair & Sock Day is Saturday 24 June but clubs, associations and schools can hold their fundraising event at any time throughout the year.
