The Australian Diamonds have announced their line-ups for October’s back-to-back Test Series against South Africa and New Zealand with Swifts champion Sarah Klau set to feature in a big way.
With the defender's club teammate Paige Hadley, who is also the Diamonds' vice captain, not participating after announcing her pregnancy in August and squad invitee Teigan O'Shannassy currently injured, Klau is the only Swift in the main selection.
Each series will feature 15 athletes, merging experience with rising Diamonds on the cusp of donning the green and gold for the first time.
The South Africa Series could see four potential debutants take the court with Ash Ervin, Hannah Mundy, Alice Teague-Neeld, and elevated invitee Lucy Austin, selected in the team.
They’ll be guided by experienced campaigners, with the South Africa Series providing strong competition and a chance to rotate combinations ahead of the Constellation Cup.
Mundy and Teague-Neeld join Liz Watson, Kate Moloney and Jamie-Lee Price in the midcourt, while Ervin lines up in defence with Klau Courtney Bruce, Matilda Garrett and Jo Weston.
In the shooting circle Georgie Horjus, Cara Koenen, Kiera Austin, Sophie Garbin and Lucy Austin complete the line-up.
Mundy remains in the Diamonds team for the Constellation Cup, which mirrors a relatively unchanged line up from the 2024 squad.
Sunday Aryang, Sophie Dwyer and Amy Parmenter return to the side, substituting Weston, Teague-Neeld and Lucy Austin as Australia contends New Zealand for the Constellation Cup silverware.
“I am really excited about what this group can produce across the next seven test matches,” said Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich.
“Our athletes have come into this year’s Diamonds environment with conviction and purpose. There is a real spark about the way they’re approaching every session.
“Having our selections at the Australian Institute of Sport was invaluable, and gave us the high-performance environment that brings the very best out of this group.
“Whilst there are pivotal events on the horizon, right now it’s about seizing the moment to test ourselves, ignite our brand of netball, and drive each other to new levels on and off the court.
“New talent has shown they are ready to take the court and earn their Diamonds dress, however match line ups will always be decided by performance.
“There’s a real fire in this group, and the squad’s mentality to challenge and support each other is the strongest it’s ever been.”
Every match of the Diamonds’ International Test Series will be available with no ad-breaks during play on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
The 2025 South Africa Series gets underway at Bendigo’s Red Energy Arena on Saturday, 4 October at 7:30pm AEST. Match two will take place at WIN Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, 8 October at 7.30pm AEST.
The series will culminate in Adelaide on Sunday, 12 October at 4.00pm ACST / 4.30pm AEST.
The 2025 Constellation Cup is set for Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Friday, 17 October, and Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday, 22 October, before the competition crosses the Tasman.
