NSW Swifts Assistant Coach Jo Harten will continue her work with England as part of the Vitality Roses coaching team, appointed as Specialist Coach for the 2027 Netball World Cup.
Harten joins Anna Stembridge, who has been appointed Head Coach of the Roses and Tamsin Greenway, who was appointed Assistant Coach.
Harten is a 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist who earned 117 caps for England. Since 2023, she has held specialist coaching roles with the Roses.
That includes the team’s historic silver medal at the Netball World Cup in Cape Town and most recently the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
“I’m extremely proud to continue in my role with the Vitality Roses in the build-up to the 2027 World Cup,” Harten said.
“My passion lies in helping the athletes raise the bar over the international season and helping Anna to continue to build on her meticulous work over the past eight months.
"I’m excited to be a part of the high and lows of the journey and reuniting with the team in the coming months to chase success.”
Stembridge pointed to Harten’s playing pedigree and the work she has already done with the group.
“Both Tamsin and Jo are serial winners,” she said.
“Jo was part of the Commonwealth Games squad who won the historic gold in 2018.
Both are fierce competitors with real tactical expertise who are not afraid to challenge my thinking whilst maintaining a supportive and collaborative coaching environment.
I’m particularly excited for Jo to build on the relationships and the tactical understanding that she worked with our attacking unit on over the summer and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve as a team together.”
England Netball Performance Director David Parsons highlighted the value Harten brings to the group, describing a combination of “Jo’s international experience and athlete-centred approach” alongside Greenway’s tactical and high-performance experience.
