NSW Swifts co-captain Paige Hadley has been announced as the Australian Diamonds captain for the 2022 England Series.
Hadley, who is Diamond #161, will be joined by West Coast Fever goalkeeper Courtney Bruce who has been named vice-captain for the Series.
A World Cup and Commonwealth Games champion, Hadley provides a wealth of experience and has been part of the leadership team in two Swifts Premiership-winning campaigns.
Swifts Head Coach Briony Akle is ecstatic with the appointment of Hadley and is excited to see the midcourter take on the national leadership role.
“I am so thrilled for Paigey, this could not have happened to a more deserving athlete,” Akle said.
“Paige’s strong mentality and guidance here at the club really pushes the players to thrive on and off court, so to see her do that at a national level will be absolutely brilliant.”
The Series will also feature fellow Swifts Sarah Klau, Maddy Turner and Maddy Proud in the Green and Gold, and they will face Club teammate Helen Housby who will be repping the England Roses.
The Diamonds take on the Roses in Newcastle on Wednesday with centre pass scheduled for 7:30pm.
Game Two of the Series takes place in Sydney on Sunday, with the final test set for Brisbane on Thursday November 3.
The Series will be broadcast live via Kayo Freebies and Fox Sports.
