NSW Swifts Commonwealth Games champions Paige Hadley and Sarah Klau have been awarded the Australian Sports Medal for their efforts at the 2022 Games in Birmingham.
The double Premiership champions were part of the Australian Diamonds team which reclaimed Commonwealth Gold after Aussie missed out to England on the Gold Coast in 2018.
The Australian Sports Medal was first awarded in 2000, the year of the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic games, to those who contributed to Australia's sporting excellence in the same year.
Today the Medal recognises the efforts of a range of Australians, including current and former competitors, coaches, sports scientists, office holders and those who maintain sporting facilities and services.
The Swifts duo accepted their Medals alongside Melbourne Vixen Kiera Austin (pictured, far left), who hails from Sydney.
The Swifts would like to take this opportunity to congratulate both Paige and Sarah on this fantastic honour.
