Former Swifts and Australian Diamonds champion defender Ali Broadbent has been appointed to the Netball NSW Board of Directors.
A Swifts centurion who won three Premierships with the team (2001, 2004, 2006), Broadbent is also a Netball NSW Hall of Fame Inductee.
Broadbent joins the Board for her first term with Vincent De Luca OAM re-elected as Director and Claire Tynan re-elected as Deputy Chairperson.
Sallianne Faulkner, Chair of Netball NSW, congratulated all on their appointments:
“As a new director, Alison brings elite-level experience and a fresh perspective from her time as a Swifts player, while Vincent brings his long-term experience and knowledge of eight years on our Board.
“I also congratulate Claire, whose leadership as Deputy Chairperson since 2021, has been exceptional, providing stability and guidance to the Board.
“I am excited to bring together this Board, with the expertise to assist in growing netball across New South Wales, supporting players, officials, and the wider community.
“I extend our sincere thanks to Jennie Thompson for her dedicated service to the Board and for her commitment to advancing netball in NSW. Whilst Jennie was not re-elected, her contribution over her term has been highly valued.” Faulkner said
