NSW Swifts are pleased to announce the appointment of Dylan Nexhip as the Club’s Head Coach for the 2027 Super Netball season, ushering in a new era for one of Australia’s premier sporting organisations.
A respected coach, leader and highly-credentialled former Australian international, Nexhip steps into the role after two successful seasons as Assistant Coach, a role that included working with the QBE Swifts Academy supporting the Academy coaches, creating alignment with the SSN Program and identifying high-potential athletes in NSW pathway competitions.
Prior to joining the Swifts, he was Head Coach of North Shore United in the Netball NSW Premier League for two years, leading them to a Minor Premiership in 2024.
Nexhip enjoyed an outstanding playing career with the Australian Kelpies, captaining the National Men's Team for five years before retiring earlier this year.
His appointment follows an open recruitment process as part of the Club’s commitment to innovation and driving continuous improvement.
NSW Swifts Executive General Manager Jeremy Butler said Nexhip's vision for the Swifts aligns with the Club's commitment to building a world-leading high-performance environment.
“Dylan’s appointment marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the NSW Swifts, following in the footsteps of iconic coaches who, over the past 30 years, have built the highest standards and helped establish the Club as a powerhouse in netball," Butler said.
“As a club, we are committed to the ongoing evolution of our storied program and ensuring the Swifts remain a destination club for Australia's best athletes and staff.
“Dylan’s vision for the future is an exciting blend of a world class high-performance environment with a holistic approach to athlete development and wellbeing. He understands that sustained success comes from creating an environment where players are empowered and inspired to perform at their best.
“What stands out is Dylan’s commitment to innovation. We are excited by his willingness to embrace new ideas, value individuality and look at different ways to create an environment where athletes and staff can thrive and maximise their strengths.”
Nexhip said it was a privilege to be entrusted with leading one of the most successful clubs in Australian sport.
“It is an incredible honour to be appointed Head Coach of the NSW Swifts,” Nexhip said.
“This Club has a rich history of incredible coaches and athletes, a strong culture and an unwavering commitment to excellence. I am grateful for the opportunity and excited by what we can achieve together.
“The foundations of the Swifts are incredibly strong, but the game continues to evolve and so must we. We want to be known for our energy, our performance and our willingness to innovate. We want to be the best.
“We will continue to invest in our people, challenge ourselves to think differently and create an environment where every individual can contribute to our success.
“I’m looking forward to working with our players and staff, as well as thrilling and exciting our partners, Members and fans as we build the next chapter of the NSW Swifts together.”
