The NSW Swifts would like to congratulate former Club Captain Kim Green OAM on her induction into the Netball NSW Hall of Fame.
A four-time Premiership champion of the Swifts and a Club Centurion, Green will be bestowed with the honour at the Netball NSW State Dinner at Bankstown Sports Club on Saturday 2 November.
Her tenure with the Swifts was a remarkable one. Having debuted with then then Sydney Swifts (rebranded to NSW Swifts in 2008), she won titles in 2004 and was part of the unmatched 2006-2008 threepeat when the Club won the last two editions of the Commonwealth Bank Trophy and the inaugural trans-Tasman ANZ Championship.
She captained the Swifts from 2012 to 2016, culminating in back-to-back Grand Finals for the team before ending her club career with Netball NSW’s new franchise - Giants Netball.
On the international stage, Green earned 74 caps for the Australian Diamonds. Her illustrious achievements included winning Gold at the 2011 and 2015 World Cups and the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and silver at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Swifts Executive General Manager Jeremy Butler paid tribute to Green.
“Kim is one of the greatest players to have ever played for the Swifts and this is a fitting honour for someone who has done so much for the national and international game.
“As a Centurion of the Swifts her name proudly adorns the stands at Ken Rosewall Arena and she will always be a cherished member of our Alumni.
“Kim played across successful teams in both the Yellow and Red eras of the Swifts and her legacy is a lasting one.
“On behalf of the Swifts I would like to congratulate Kim and we look forward to seeing her at our home games in 2025.”
