Last Thursday night, Sport NSW held the 2021 Community Sport Awards at Bankwest Stadium.
Recognising finalists and winners across ten award categories, the 2021 NSW Community Sports Awards highlighted the contributions made by officials, coaches, administrators, teams, clubs, events and Councils.
Congratulations to NSW Swifts assistant coach Bec Bulley who was awarded joint winner of the Community Coach of the Year Award.
In 2020, Bulley led North Shore United to their maiden victory in the Netball NSW Premier League competition in the Opens Division.
Bulley is an athlete-centred coach, a determined competitor with strong tactical intuition, a generous and effective coach educator, and a willing mentor to other coaches.
To her players, she is both an inspiration and a support. A multiple Premiership winner (including a 2008 title with the Swifts) and World Cup winner with the Australian Diamonds, she retired from playing in 2018.
As well as success with the Swifts, she also won titles with the Thunderbirds, Firebirds and played a Grand Final with the Giants.
She returned to the Swifts in 2021, taking up the position of assistant coach in Briony Akle's high performance team.
