The NSW Swifts are proud to announce Athletes Authority (AA) as the Club’s Official Athletic Performance Partner for the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Providing the Swifts with world-class expertise in the fields of strength & conditioning, sports science and athlete recovery, AA are trusted by a host of NRL, AFL and Super Rugby Clubs, as well Australian national teams and athletes across a variety codes.
Co-founded by former Swifts Head of Athletic Performance Lachlan Wilmot, AA are leaders in their space, providing support to hundreds of the nation’s top performers.
Swifts Head Coach Briony Akle said she was delighted to have the support of AA as the Club bids to regain the Super Netball title and add an eighth Premiership trophy to its rich legacy.
“We have worked with Lachlan for a number of years and been hugely impressed by the knowledge and expertise of his team at Athlete’s Authority,” she said.
“I am fortunate to have a wonderful performance team at the Swifts, and getting the additional support of AA will be vital to giving us an extra edge in 2026.
“It is not just how you prepare for an SSN, but also how you recover after. The elite level is fast, physical and very tough on our athletes’ bodies.
“We want to ensure our players have the best support possible, and AA are part of this.
“I am delighted to welcome AA on board and look forward to the season ahead with them.”
Wilmot said it was an honour to be working with the Swifts again and explained the nature of the partnership.
“With any performance partnership, in particularly an athletic performance partnership like this, we want to try and fill the gaps that athletes don't have in their everyday environment,” he said.
“So having this performance partnership allows us to really leverage both the private sector that we have at Athletes Authority, and then the professional setting of the Swifts.
“What really impresses me about professional netballers like the Swifts is how hard they work and how much energy and effort they put in.
“Since I first worked with them four years ago I’ve seen how the systems of approach have improved, and the consistency of them too.
“The facilities we already have at AA, and the new facilities we're about to build in North Sydney, are second to none. So, giving the Swifts the opportunity to use things like an anti-gravity treadmill and allowing for isokinetic testing with a machine like a HUMAC - where we can really delve down into things and hopefully highlight weaknesses that we can fix – will add that extra 5% to the performance output that the Swifts already have.
“At the very pointy end of elite sport the margins are very fine, so striving for that extra 5% is huge.”
