Netball NSW Premier League Opens Player of the Year Lili Gorman-Brown will return as a Swifts Training Partner for the 2023 Suncorp Super Netball season.
The Sutherland Shire Junior, who made her Swifts debut in this year’s Round 2 thriller against the Melbourne Vixens in Sydney, is the latest Training Partner to be announced by the seven-time Premiers.
Gorman-Brown backed up her Super Netball debut with a fine campaign for the QBE Swifts Academy at the Australian Netball Championships, while she was a leading light for the Sutherland Stingrays in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old, who represented NSW State Teams and the Netball NSW Waratahs (now QBE Swifts Academy) in recent years, said she was pumped to be back in 2023.
“I just love being a part of the Swifts environment and making my debut earlier in the year was the fulfilment of a dream I’ve had since I was little,” she said.
“Growing up in NSW I always wanted to play for the Swifts and being part of the wider group is something that I am really proud of.
“Super Netball is such a tight competition and getting to train with world class athletes daily has helped elevate my game to a level where I feel Training Partners are able to step up and do a job when called upon.
“It’s wonderful to see so many QBE Swifts Academy and Premier League players make the elevation to the senior team setup and I’m really pumped for an exciting season ahead.”
Swifts head coach Briony Akle said Gorman-Brown was fully deserving of her position in 2023.
“Lili is a brilliant person to have around the senior team environment and always goes above and beyond for Club,” she said.
“Getting to see Lili take the court for the Swifts in Super Netball last year was a special moment for a player who has come through the Netball NSW pathway and always given 100 per cent along the way.
“She slotted in really well against a world-class Melbourne Vixens midcourt and that experience will be invaluable as she returns to our setup.”
The NSW Swifts will make further announcements regarding Training Partners in due course.
