Dear Swifts Members and Fans,
Along with every club, sport and industry across Australia, we are currently working our way through the unprecedented situation brought about by the Covid-19 outbreak.
This is a very challenging time for everyone in the wider community and it is important that the NSW Swifts adhere to all recommendations and directives provided to us by Federal and State authorities as the country unites to stem the spread of the virus.
Foremost in our minds is the protection of our players, staff and you – our valued Members and Fans. With that in mind it has been decided to introduce precautionary measures to aid all concerned.
Here are some updates for your information:
Suncorp Super Netball
As things stand, we still aim to commence our 2020 Suncorp Super Netball title defence against the Sunshine Coast Lightning on Sunday 3 May at the newly renovated Ken Rosewall Arena in Sydney Olympic Park.
The Australian response to Covid-19 is fluid and subject to change daily, therefore our actions must also be flexible to aid the national effort.
We hope to have a clearer picture of the wider situation by mid-April and, should things change, we will advise then. For now, our players, coaches and staff will keep working on what we do best, and look forward to seeing everyone in early May.
Club events
New precautionary measures mean the postponement of club events in the lead-up to the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season. We understand that this news will be disappointing for some Members, especially our junior supporters, however, we do hope to reschedule these events once it is feasible to do so.
The events postponed are:
- Ladies in Red Open Training Session: Wednesday 18 March
- Members Open Training Session: Saturday 18 April
- Junior Members Clinic: Friday 24 April
The situation is a very difficult one, but we are proud to be part of the wider effort to put the well-being of our Swifts Family and netball community first.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Members for their continued support. They are the lifeblood of the club and its backbone through the good times and the challenging. We encourage members to get in touch with, should they have any concerns - details in your email inbox.
Our club motto is more apt today than ever: Together We Can.
Take care of each other. Chat soon.
