Having battled to a draw in the opening Test and rebounding with victory in the second, Helen Housby’s England Roses are ready for a huge finish to their Series against Jamaica in the Caribbean next week.
The NSW Swifts Centurion and double Premiership winner has been at her best for the Roses in a pulsating Series so far, which also boasts a number of other Suncorp Super Netball stars such as Jodi-Ann Ward and Shamera Sterling who are playing for the Sunshine Girls.
The two Tests in Jamaica take place on Tuesday (10.30am AEST) and Wednesday (11.00am AEST) with both games broadcast live on NetballPass.
“I’m super excited by some of the little snapshots of where I think this team can go and some of the change ups that we made today (in the second Test), in particular the shooting circle,” England coach Jess Thirlby said ahead of the trip to Kingston.
Jamaica head coach Sasher-Gaye Henry is loving the current competitiveness of international netball and cannot wait for the Series Finales in the coming days.
“I think we did great as a team (in England) and we should be proud of our achievements,” she told NewsMax.
“Maybe the last result was not we what we wanted but it’s something that we have to work through and try to come the last two games and improve on our performance
“It is going to be two keenly contested games (in Jamaica). It’s going to be competitive. We have to respect England and their second place in the world and we are number four.
“It all comes down to being disciplined, being precise in our movements and to improve on our weaknesses that we had.
“We have to limit our turn overs and capitalize on their strengths so it’s something that we have to work on.”
