Having an immediate impact coming off the bench, Swifts shooter Helen Housby guided the English Roses to a four-goal victory over the Silver Ferns to secure the Taini Jamison Trophy series 2-0.
Shooting at 82%, Housby owned the Roses goaling circle with 13 goal assist and 17 feeds as well as 19 centre pass receives and two pick-ups.
Incoming Swifts shooter, Grace Nweke was standing strong in the Ferns shooting circle putting up 43 goals out of 51 and pulling in 7 offensive rebounds in her full 60 minutes on court.
England Roses Head Coach Jess Thilby has said she wants her squad to keep the momentum going and to take the series out 3-0, “There’ll be no foot off the gas, we’ve got trust in our squad that everyone can come on and do that and play their role.”
“We’re always playing to win, and I just can’t wait to see us hopefully go on and stamp our authority on this test series.”
The final game of the Taini Jamison Trophy series takes place on Sunday at 7:30pm NZDT (6:30pm AEDT) at ILT Stadium Southland, Invercargill NZ.
