From Round One to a sold-out Grand Final, the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball season delivered a record-breaking performance - drawing the biggest crowds and widest reach the national league has ever seen.
With a total season attendance of 386,455, 2025 marked the biggest Suncorp Super Netball season in history, cementing the league's status as the most attended in Australian women’s sport for the second year in a row.
The Swifts had an average attendance of 8,000 fans per game while over 55,000 fans attended their regular-season home games.
A new all-time high of 343,634 fans turned out across the 2025 home and away season, making it the most attended regular season in national league history. That momentum carried through to the Grand Final, where a record-breaking 15,013 fans filled Rod Laver Arena - the largest ever crowd for a Suncorp Super Netball match.
In total, the 2025 Finals Series crowds grew by 25 per cent compared to 2024, continuing the league’s strong upward trajectory. It was also the fourth consecutive Grand Final to sell out, following capacity crowds in Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide in previous years.
Beyond the stands, the league’s impact continued to soar, with record-breaking viewership for the 2025 Grand Final marking the most-watched Suncorp Super Netball game ever on Kayo Sports and Foxtel. This was up +60 per cent on last year’s Grand Final.
The Finals Series also set a new broadcast benchmark, becoming the most-watched Finals Series ever across Kayo Sports and Foxtel, up +26 per cent on last year.
Netball Australia CEO Stacey West said the 2025 season reflects the growing strength of the code and the passion of its supporters.
“This year’s success is a true reflection of the dedication of our athletes, clubs, partners and fans,” West said.
“To sell out Rod Laver Arena and set new records across almost every metric is something the entire netball community can be incredibly proud of.
“Not only did we break crowd records across the country, but we also reached more Australians than ever through our expanded broadcast footprint. The 2025 Finals Series was our most watched on record, showing that the appetite for elite netball is not just growing, it is thriving.”
“We are growing year on year, and there is still so much potential to unlock.”
Broadcast reach continued to expand in 2025, with more partners than ever before. Foxtel, SEN, Netball Pass, AWSN and Inverleigh joined forces to provide fans with live coverage, expert commentary and digital content across multiple platforms.
This unprecedented access drove expanded engagement, with broadcast audiences tuning into first-class coverage across Foxtel, Kayo, and for the first time BINGE, introducing the league to new audiences nationwide.
The home and away season saw continued growth in memberships, with the NSW Swifts, Sunshine Coast Lightning, Adelaide Thunderbirds and Melbourne Vixens reporting their strongest membership figures to date. The rise in fan engagement has reaffirmed Suncorp Super Netball’s place as Australia’s leading women’s sport.
The on-court action was equally impressive, with 568 Suncorp Super Shots scored throughout the regular season, generating a total donation of $56,800 to the Confident Girls Foundation, as part of the continued commitment from Suncorp to empower young girls through sport.
Lisa Harrison, Chief Executive, Consumer Insurance, Suncorp, reflected on the growth of the game across their partnership with Suncorp Super Netball.
“The 2025 Suncorp Super Netball Season was a remarkable showcase of athleticism, professionalism, and excellence,” Harrison said.
“In a year that set new attendance benchmarks for the league, the athletes once again delivered world-class performances, culminating in a thrilling Grand Final that exemplified the very best of elite netball.
“Suncorp is proud to have supported Netball Australia since 2017 and to continue championing a competition that sets the global standard for the sport. We congratulate all Suncorp Super Netball teams on an outstanding season.”
The 2025 season has not only cemented Suncorp Super Netball as the premier women’s sporting league in Australia, but it has also firmly established a platform for even greater achievements in the years to come.
