2012 NSW Swifts recruit April Letton is a rising star of Australian netball.
Standing at 185cm, April is the tallest in the NSW Swifts defensive unit which includes two of international netball’s most decorated defenders, Mo’onia Gerrard and Sonia Mkoloma.
After a breakout year in 2011, April has continued to go from strength-to-strength after making her FastNet Diamonds debut in 2010 and is a regular invitee to Diamonds training camps.
2012 will be April’s first full season in the ANZ Championship, after having a taste of the action in 2011 as a replacement player for the QLD Firebirds.
A Sutherland Shire junior, former AIS Scholarship holder and member of the Australian 21/U Team, Letton was captain of the victorious NSW 21/U Team that won the 2011 National Netball Championships for the fourth consecutive year – an event where she was also named Tournament MVP for the second consecutive year.
